Maintaining Male Masturbation Sleeves

First things first... congratulations on buying your first male masturbation sleeve! Using a penis stroker sleeve feels so much better than your hand. Am I right?

Now that you've enjoyed that masturbation session, you probably just wanting to lay back and relax after a mind-blowing orgasm. At least that's what I want to do after releasing an explosive orgasm into any one of the masturbators I own. I use mine almost daily, and then it's a few times in the same day. If you're anything like me, the last thing you want to bother with is cleaning your toys. Yeah, it's a pain in the ass, but you have to do it.

Cleaning your stroker is easy, especially if you use water-based sexual lubricants. When you use a water-based lube or cream, semen and the lube wash off easily just by running it under the tap. If you're a clean-freak, you can also use mild soap or toy cleaners formulated specifically for many TPE sex toys. Either way, always clean your male sex toys after each use!

Why You Should Clean Toys After Every Use

Even though they feel silky smooth, sex toys are filled with tiny holes that can hold bodily fluids and lubricants. These holes are easily visible under a microscope but are usually invisible to the naked eye.

When you use you masturbator, lube and semen gets deposited into these tiny pores. So if you do not clean them after each use, you guessed it, bacteria will start to grow. Bacterial growth is most noticeable when you fail to clean all of your fluids from within the toy. That stuff can smell horrible and isn't exactly an environment suitable for shoving your penis. If you do this on a regular basis, or let bacteria grow inside your masturbator for too long, it will be impossible to clean. Then your hard-earned money goes in the trash and you end up having to buy a new toy.

Can I Boil My Sex Toys If They Begin To Smell?

The problem with exposing many elastic toys to extreme heat is the material can quickly break down. Rubber is usually molded when hot, so heating them too far North of 100 degrees can result in polymer failure or severely deform your toys. Trying to go the extra mile and boiling your toys to ensure free them of bacteria actually makes matters worse. When boiling the rubber sleeves, you end up making those tiny holes larger. More porous, means more fluid retention. It is simply in your dick's best interest to always wash the strokers thoroughly after each use.

Can I Wash My Toys in the Shower?

Absolutely! That is actually the easiest and most convenient way to ensure your toys remain clean. Body wash, soap and shampoo are effective cleaning agents that should not damage your masturbation sleeves. Be sure to check the instructions that came with your device as some manufacturers discourage the use of any soaps. Though the warning may simply be an effort to sell more of restoring powders and toy cleaners.

Avoid trying cleaning sex toys with hair conditioners since many are oil-based and difficult/impossible to rinse out completely. This also goes for anti-dandruff shampoos. They may have unexpected chemical reactions due to exotic ingredients.

What about the bathtub? We do not suggest washing any toys in standing water, especially that in which you are bathing. Think about it... you and your toys would be floating around in whatever you've washed off your body and out/off your toys... yuck!

Note: Remember to disconnect or remove any bullets or vibrators that are not rated waterproof before getting them wet.

What If My Stroker Begins To Feel Sticky?

Many male masturbators are shipped with some type of powder visible on the rubber surface. This powder keeps the strokers from feeling greasy or sticky. After multiple uses and cleaning, the rubber oil creeping to the surface. This is natural and expected. What you can do to restore your masturbators exterior to that fresh fleshy feeling is dust it with corn starch after you have cleaned and dried your masturbation sleeve. Many manufacturers claim restoring and maintenance powders are superior, but upon check the ingredients, most are 100% corn starch anyhow. So that decision is entirely up to you.
